WRITING TIPS ✍🏿
Risks of utilizing ChatGPT and other AI writing tools for your Linkedin profile and job application documents
While ChatGPT and AI can be useful tools for creating your application materials, it is essential to be aware of these technologies' potential hazards and restrictions. Therefore, for your application materials, I will review some pressing issues you should know while employing ChatGPT and AI in the Web3 and crypto industries.
Outdated information: While ChatGPT was developed using data from 2021, it may only sometimes reflect the most recent developments. For example, Ais will probably need to obtain the most recent data on market movements or employment patterns, which could affect its recommendations' relevance. Therefore, add your study on recent advancements in the industry to AI-generated content to ensure your application documents are current and pertinent.
Inaccurate information: It's possible for generative models like ChatGPT to output false data occasionally. Always review AI-generated content and double-check the information with reputable sources to ensure your application docs are accurate.
Grammatical errors: Although ChatGPT is trained on a substantial volume of text, the grammar structure cannot be guaranteed to be accurate. We advise you to check the output for errors and use Grammarly or any similar program. Remember that it is crucial to proofread and fact-check content created by AI.
Plagiarism risks: ChatGPT might generate text very close to the existing text it was trained on for niche topics with limited training data. To avoid plagiarism issues, use tools like Grammarly to perform a plagiarism check on the AI-generated content and make necessary adjustments.
Need help understanding the context. ChatGPT may need to fully understand the context and nuance of your work experience, achievements, and career goals. This is very important because it will cause your application to look weak.
Lack of personalization: AI may not provide personalized advice or recommendations considering your career trajectory, industry norms, and the target job market. If you rely on a tool to get your application picked up, you should know it won't sound like you. You could end up with a cover letter similar to the thousands of online generic templates.
Need to get deeper. ChatGPT may need help to capture your unique writing style, tone, and voice, which can make your resume less effective at showcasing your personality and communication skills.
AI detection software: As AI-generated content becomes more prevalent, companies may start using software to detect if applications are written with AI and deprioritize them or ignore them with lower priority. Remember to modify the AI output to ensure your application documents pass scrutiny and adjust it to your specific needs and personal voice.
Conclusion
While ChatGPT and AI can be useful tools for developing application materials for various jobs, it's important to know their constraints and potential risks. Always assure accuracy, relevance, and originality by fact-checking, editing, and proofreading AI-generated content. You can then deliver your application with assurance.
